Companion Bird Frames

Here are 3 more bird frames from the same bird window series, I think they all complement each other well!

Swirl Window

Here's my latest window- This one inspired by Van Gogh's swirls.  I glued marbles of all shapes, and cut glass to create the swirls, then filled each pane with resin to soften the lines.  I like this technique, it makes it look like fused glass instead!  I'm now working at a glass shop part-time, so let the madness continue!!

Knit Wire Bracelets

I've been feverishly making stock for Christmas and for my upcoming Craft Shows, so here's some of the latest goodies- some knit wire bracelets, that are VERY hard on the hands to make!  Fun, but tedious...

Bird Window

Here is my latest creation, a bird window scene.  It was much easier and quicker than the others, yet I wonder if it's too simple?  Anyway, hopefully someone will love it and buy it!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

I have been VERY busy this past month since both kids now go to school, so we are all getting used to our new schedules! I have been working on a new mosaic window, and hope to have pics up soon! Stay tuned...

Needle Felted Doll

I made this needle felted doll for my daughter's 7th birthday.  I loosely based it on a fairy pattern from Spin-off magazine.  Her name is Seraphina, and her body is needlefelted, along with her "clothes", and she has a tulle skirt, maribou hair and a rhinestone necklace!  She was fun to make and my daughter loves her! (Which is all that matters!)

Recon dresses

I made these dresses for my daughter using old too-small t-shirts and sewing them to peasant skirts.  I could have made the placement more empire-waisted, but they are still cute, and she'll get a ton of wear outta them!

Glitter Shoes

In searching Pinterest (my new favorite website), I came across this idea of making glitter shoes that don't flake.  I love this technique!!  Mix your glitter into a small amount of Mod Podge, the paint on 5-6 layers to fill in all spots with glitter!  Now I also have leftovers in case they get scuffed!  These were $1 sneakers turned glam!!

T-Shirt Rugs

As you can see I'm busy with lots of different projects at the same time- now I've finished 3 woven T-Shirt rugs for my son's room.  This was taken from Family Fun's pattern woven on a hula hoop.  Fun and fast!  I took my husband's old tshirts, dyed them all briefly for the colors to blend, cut into strips and woven together on the round hoop...  This is a great technique, and the cats approve!

Progress on Rug

I'm still not there, I want BIGGER!  Guess another 30 yards and a few more months to go!

Beach Themed Painted Window

This piece was a commission for a friend, and it's finally finished!  She's a true Parrothead, loving all things beachy, so we designed this window around those ideas!  Painted with glass window paint, and now I think I'll incorporate this paint along with my other mosaics in my next window!

My Hubby's Birthday Socks

I've been working feverishly and secretly on my hubby's birthday pair of socks, and they are done!  I've found that it takes me a month of working solidly to make a pair...  The pattern is from the Socks a la Carte book again, the yarn is the Rosemary Rocks colorway from Sox That Rock, and I love this wavy pattern!

Silverware Windchimes

I made a few of these windchimes from some old pieces of my grandmother's for my craft shows, they are easy to make and fun to hear!  I couldn't bear to get rid of the last one, so here it is on my back porch!    I used aluminum wire to wrap the pieces and fishing line to attach it all together, this one is hanging from a potato masher...  I'll make more soon with items from the thrift store, then I won't need to keep them all for sentimental reasons!

Comics Flowers with Tutorial!

I've been playing with lots of comic book ideas lately and thought up this one, since I've made flowers with fabric before...  It's fun and easy and a new take on recycling/upcycling!  You will need comics, cloth floral wire and clear drying glue (like Elmer's or Weldbond).

1. Choose your images from comic books, and paint a coat of mod-podge over the area.
2. Take floral wire and bend around a round dowel or object, then pull slightly into a pear shape, wrapping ends together under flower petal.

3. Glue around petal shape and stick to image.  I like to make the wire petals stand up straight to dry correctly.

4. Let dry, and add another coat of mod-podge before assembling.

5. Take 5 petals and twist together, bending into the flower shape, until you are happy with the results.
6. Enjoy!

Maryland Sheep & Wool- Lotsa Ideas!!!!

My guru, Nicole, and I went to the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival this past weekend, and now I'm extra inspired again!  I just bought an unfinished Kromski Minstrel spinning wheel!!!!!!!!  I'm going to finish it in mahogany stain, and hopefully can start playing this weekend- (after my guru shows me what the hell I'm doing!)  My hubby also just finished making my raised beds for my cotton "plantation", so I'm just full of excitement (and projects to keep me sane this summer!)

Socks Finished!

Yay! I finished my 2nd pair of socks! This time, top down, and except for the difficult cast-on, I think I may like toe-up socks a bit better, because I keep getting holes when I join back in the round at the heels on the top-downs...  Anyway, now onto gifts of socks for everyone, since I feel the sock fever!!  Hubby's next, I have a month to finish his!

My 3rd sock!

Finished my 3rd sock today!  This pattern is called Triangulate from the book Socks a la Carte by Jonelle Raffino & Katherine Cade, with a dutch heel and star toe, and it's the 1st time I followed more of a pattern with my socks.  Please ignore the glitch midway through, although now I have to make the same mistake on the second one, wish me luck!....

Wire Wrapped Jewelry

Since Sterling prices have gotten insane, I've been playing with bronze wire wrapping, here's some new pieces with fun pearls...

Spring Wreath

I made this spring wreath for my grandmother's nursing home door, it was fun and easy!  I took a green foam wreath blank, and wrapped furry green yarn around it, then added butterflies and a bluebird...  Soft and cute!

1st sock(s)- finished!

Yay!  Finally finished my 1st pair of socks, or rather my 1st sock and it's evil twin!  They both turned out too big, so I had to frog them and redo the toe from cuff down...  Actually the evil twin's cuff was reworked 3 times and it's toe twice...  Either way, I now "get it" and think this sock making thing isn't so bad!!!  If I can do it, anyone can!

Better Pics of Window

Here are some better pics of the new window, since the sun finally shone through it!
